March 15 2009

Spring is a funny thing here in Ohio. It come and it goes, then usually springs right into the ungodly heat of summer. We had some great warm weather in March so we took a lot of walks in one of our local parks.

We had some horrible wind storms in September and again earlier this year, some wonderful old trees were destroyed.

For some reason, I see the Eye of Ra here. Yeah, you just can't get the geek out!

I don't know if you can see them, but Turtle, Turtle. (Cookies for anyone getting the movie reference there)

Pretty little stream. The water was low this year, this was the first time I had ever been able to get down close to the water. Without killing myself

Florida 2009

Well, it’s been awhile. Typical me, start a project then let it fall to the wayside…

Here a few pics from my trip to Florida this year:

First night in Florida.

This was a cloud formation we saw while in the Everglades. It reminded me of a video game character. Yes, my mind is a very strange place

Dad's cell phone went shelling with us...he was trying to dry it out. *snicker* It was toast!

Did some deep housecleaning today and only got one room done.  YIKES!  My house is a mess.

Watched the kittens play tonight:

I’ve had to put them in a cage because they are wandering into the neighbors yards and making them mad. But I let them out for a bit so they could run and play.  This week is the when I will put an ad up on Craig’s list to find them new homes.  I have a few more vids of them that I will add later.

I got it into my head to paint the pantry as a surprise for Shan for when he comes home.  Let’s just say that it’s a good thing I don’t do this for a living.

Before:

In my defense, the walls were f***** up from the builders, they didn’t mud the tape hardly at all.  The huge patches you see are from where the cats scratched up the wall.  The patches I did weren’t all that great either, but hey, THAT’S NOT PART OF MY JOB!  Thank God!

After:

The painting itself is pretty good.  I have done that before since I used to work with Shan. It looks ok, you can see the patches I did, but it looks a whole heck of a lot better than it did.  Poor hubby will have to fix what I messed up though….

Oh, and a cool thing greeted me on my front porch tonight:

I’ve not seen a praying mantis at our house before and was thrilled to see him.  Freaked me out at first, but they are cool!

No pictures from me today, these are some my dad took at the rib fest a couple of weeks back.  They are so good I thought I would share:

Kitty update.  Please note that he still looks gross, but he’s getting around great and acting just like always:

*sigh* She’s taking pictures again

I can’t tell you how thankful I am that he is ok and healing.  He is a unique cat and just great fun to watch (when he’s not hurt)

Last day of work until my vacation, and I volunteered to be there. *headdesk*

It was a pretty day. This is our pond that at our building. There are 3 buildings on the campus(?) of the Limited that I work at.

My friend kicking back during break. We were trying not to sucumb to the siren call of our cars in the parking lot and get the hell out of Dodge. I hope she doesn’t mind me posting her pic, but I must say that without her, work would be so miserable I wouldn’t be able to stand it. We get into trouble. ALOT! *g*

An interesting not attached to a gift wrap request:

I was going to take a picture of what he was giving his girl, but the dress was SO ugly I just couldn’t put my phone through that.

Ok, so I’ve been known to have an odd sense of humor.  I do get it honestly, my dad’s is just as odd if not more odd.

This is a little joke he and his wife played on me regarding the cat I ran over:

So, yeah, we have strange senses of humor.  I can honestly say that if the cat had either been hurt worse, or killed dad never would have done this.  This cat is now on the dashboard on my car.  I may start taking pictures of him in different places.

August 6, 2008 FAIR DAY

Ok, now for a post with not so gross pics. :) The dad, the wife and myself went to the Ohio State Fair this evening.

Our first goal was food, but we ran across these instead:

The Budweiser horses! This is the best picture both my dad and I could get. It was feeding time, so all the horses were facing away and presenting the public with their butts.

The sky gliders:

Ah, food finally!

Me stuffing my face:

Miscellaneous shots:

ACK! Daleks!

*WARNING DISTURBING PICTURES AHEAD*

Ok, you have been warned. Last night I had an accident involving one of my outdoor cats. He got caught under one of my tires of my car and dragged half way down my driveway. He is okay, but he was injured. His fur was ripped off his back and his back paw is a real mess. I’m posting pictures because this is a pic blog of my daily life, the good, the bad and the ugly. This definitely fits the last two. Please remember he is okay, but these pictures are real gross.

This is one of the strongest, toughest cats I have ever seen. He’s walking on the paw, eating and drinking normally, purrs when I pet him (which he demands quite often) and hopping around almost like nothing is wrong. I’m cleaning the paw with peroxide, which when I do he looks at me like, “What are you doing to me now?” and goes back to whatever he is doing. I have to repeat, he is okay, mostly to myself because that had to have been one of the most horrible experiences in my life. I am very thankful that I didn’t kill him or do more damage.

I will update on his progress as it goes.
