Finally, after a craptastic winter, it’s time for the first bonfire of the season!

Did some running around today, which included stopping off at Strader’s garden center to get some seeds for this years garden. (Yes, I’m trying that little experiment again)

This garden center has cats. They are all very sweet, but one in particular is my favorite.

Like the other cats he loves to be petted, but he doesn’t come to you, you have to go to him. He’s king and he knows it.

Well, I’ve kept up on this little project haven’t I? I’ll be going back and backdating some entries shortly. Yes, that’s cheating a bit, but hey it’s my blog and I’ll do what I want to.

Anyway, had an MRI done this past weekend for my back since the pain in my lower back is not really getting any better. The news is that I have a disc extrusion, which means that my bottom disc has “popped” out towards my spinal cord. (The other type and more common extrusion is the disc popping out to the right or left, causing pain and numbness going down the legs.) This can not be fixed, but can be slowed down and managed with the proper care. Right now I’m going through physical therapy to strengthen my muscles to keep my spine aligned. As long as it’s aligned and I don’t do real stupid physical things, it shouldn’t get much worse and I will be able to avoid surgery. If I’m really lucky, I will be able to also avoid the shots into the back to help with the pain. I’m not sure what this means as far as me being able to go back to work at my current job, so as of right now, there are a lot of things up in the air.

I can’t make heads or tails of these things, other than I can see my spine. The other pictures from the MRI are just downright freaky.

The weather sucks.  So, I got some tulips to brighten my day:

Well, the kittens are doing well. This surprises me because the mama cat has never taken good care of her kittens. They either die (which just kills me), or I have to take care of them.

Mama cat keeps putting the babies back in their “cubby”. I kept taking them out because it was so hot today.

Yes, this one is panting and reminds me of LOLCats.

It was a gorgeous day again here. (It’s a record 2 days in a row for Ohio!) I was sitting in the back yard and just pointed my camera up:

It’s been raining, cold and dreary here today, so imagine my surprise when I saw a strange light in the sky. It was the sun, which I thought we weren’t supposed to see for days. With the dark clouds, it created some strange lighting which I don’t think my camera picked up, but I tried:

Looks like we won't be using the firepit until the water comes down. On the plus side, we can always race toy boats!
